The coronavirus is here. Everyone is taking the appropriate precautions. The spreading of the virus needs to be stopped. We are not able to meet directly with our clients to continue the development of business relationships and to prospect for new clients. Obviously we cannot continue the process of personally knocking on doors, sales calls, trade shows, networking, etc. to conduct needed business
HOWEVER, business cannot stop. As business people we need to still convey our brand, our message, to customers and prospects. The question is how do we do it This is the time we need to think outside of the box. How are we going to effectively conduct the business of communicating our products and services to our customers since we can't meet them face to face. We want to be upbeat. Convey that we care about them. Provide a service they can use. Let people know we are open for business and how we can serve them. Some examples.... Conferences, trade shows, seminars, sales meetings were canceled. There was a budget for these events, the funds can now be used in a creative way to stay in touch with these important people. Send out sunglasses saying see you next year or in 6 months. Send out sanitizer spray with the message together we will beat this. How about a survival kit. The kit could include, tissues, hand sanitizer, microfiber cloth and a piece of chocolate or other candy. Inside could be information on ways to help your client. Direct mail is a great option. Send customers and prospects a survival kit. Inside could be maybe some items above, a game, a coupon, etc. Have some fun, create conversation. What I am getting at here is continuing to develop your relationships with your clients and develop new ones. Don't let them fall away, or let them think you are not thinking of them. Promotional items are personal, people like receiving them. Put a smile on your clients faces. Think of the surprise reaction when they receive your information. People remember where they got the promotional item, let them remember you during this period. There are more ideas to keep business flowing and operating and communicating with your important customers. Let's work together to make this happen.
