I am asked all the time: what is the best or newest promotional product on the market. Each promotion is different and has different needs which leads to the discussion of which item will accomplish your goal. Impressions is one way the advertising industry evaluates the effectiveness of advertising. Below is a chart for a few selective promotional items. The one that stands out is the real estate on a cell phones. That does not mean other promotional products are not effective or would not be effective for your purposes. All of the numbers reflect the average lifetime of impressions on a promotional product. Cell Phones - 24,000 times per year 18 -24 year olds 86 times per day 25 - 34 year olds 67 times per day 35 - 44 year olds 49 times per day Tote Bags - 3,300 times Hats - 3,400 impressions Pens - 3,000 impressions Outerwear - 6,100 impressions T-Shirts - 2,300 impressions The cell phone appears to be the most popular real estate to put your brand or use in a promotion. That is not always the case. Let's consider another popular promotional item: Drinkware. 88% of the population owns some form of drinkware. Water bottle, mug, tumbler, to name a few. They also keep this item on average for 12 months. The number of lifetime impressions is 1,400 by the person who owns it. if you only went by the number of impressions, this opportunity would have been overlooked. This is a truly targeted item with a lot more copy space than you would have on a cell phone. Before selecting any promotional item I recommend you talk to a promotional product professional first and discuss what your outcome for the promotion. There are many options and opportunities to consider to insure the success of your promotion and new ones are added all the time. I would be happy to assist.
