I want to clarify my statement above. I want to discuss what is a good promotional tumbler to pass out to promote your organization. Not all tumblers are the same, but more importantly, some tumblers are better for a promotion than others. Recognizing that every promotion has different objectives and needs, let's get started. First, what does the tumbler look like. Will it fit in someone's hands, color, shape, will it fit into a car's drink holder, do you want grips, tall, short, slender are a few considerations. Some events need a dynamic and bright colored tumbler. Do you need a PMS match. For other events you may want a restful and soft color. New and innovative designs and colors come out all the time. What features does the tumbler need to have? Does it light up. Does it have a cap that can magnetically attach to the side so you don't lose it. Will it leak when turned up side down. Does the top screw on or slide on. What about having a speaker or USB charger included. Some have secret compartments. Think about how a person sips from the tumbler, open all around, slide top, curved opening are some examples. How big of an imprint area do you need? Will a small rectangle do or will you need to decorate the whole bottle. Can you personalize by adding customers names. People are more likely to keep an item with their name permanently etched on to them. Think about the workplace, with names on the tumbler, everyone will know whose bottle is whose. Can you add bling or a complete wrap around with your artwork. Do you need to imprint on the top? Is your artwork full color or do you want a simple impression such as engraving into the metal of the tumbler. Do you want the tumbler to be environmentally friendly made with recycled products. Cork, wood or bamboo design or leather wrap are some options. Is safety an issue for you if your event is focusing on the workplace. Prevent spills and other accidents. Should the tumbler be tall or short which could prevent them from tipping over. Leak proof would be important. How long do you want the hot liquids to stay hot: 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours? Do they normally drain their tumbler of coffee in two hours before they need a refill? The same goes for how long must the liquid inside stay cold. Brand named tumblers like Coleman, Yeti, Camelbak, Pelican, Aviana. Not everyone wants a name brand item when a knock off will have the same features but cost maybe half as much. On the other hand, sometimes you want your brand in association with a quality name brand. What size tumbler do you want.... 8 oz, 12 oz, 14, oz 16 oz, 20 oz, 24 oz, 32 oz? Depends how you are planning to promote yourself and your message. In the office or home a cute small tumbler maybe appropriate. For outside the office a larger tumbler might be more practical. How are you going to present the tumbler to the recipient. Is packaging important to insure your message is clearly presented in stead of simple cellophane wrap. There are options for you to have complete control over the box and that includes a full color imprint. Packaging makes giving the tumbler more of a gift and thank you and upscales the promotion. What is your budget. I mention this last not because it is not important, but you should start with the features above to see if you can locate a tumbler with the attributes you want at a price that fits your budget and promotion. It is a waste of money if the tumbler you choose, no one uses and it stays hidden away in the cupboard. To see the options available to you, and to see samples of the tumbler you think will meet your needs, call a promotional professional to discuss your promotion and all the options available to you.
